
Queer musical ‘Zsazsa Zaturnnah’ opens auditions for new production
In time for Pride month, the acclaimed queer musical “Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal” is set to return to the stage as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, with producers opening auditions for a new production. Originally based on the graphic novel by Carlo Vergara, the musical first premiered at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2006 and went on to become the longest-running musical of Tanghalang Pilipino. “Zsazsa Zaturnnah Ze Muzikal” follows Ada, a gay beautician whose life changes after swallowing a mysterious stone that transforms him into the superheroine Zsazsa Zaturnnah.
