
DepEd officials injured after screen falls during Brigada Eskwela
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Several Department of Education (DepEd) officials were injured after a large LED screen toppled onto the stage during the 2026 Brigada Eskwela Caravan and Kickoff Program at Tagburos Elementary School here on Monday. In a statement, the DepEd Mimaropa Regional Office said strong winds suddenly struck the venue while certificates were being awarded to stakeholders, causing the LED screen to fall. Among those injured were DepEd Mimaropa Regional Director Ronnie Mallari, Puerto Princesa Schools Division Superintendent Laida Mascareñas, and another teacher who was onstage during the program.
