
Remulla tells Cayetano: Executive branch can arrest lawmakers
MANILA, Philippines — Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla maintained that the executive department may arrest members of the legislative branch despite the separation of powers between the two branches of government. Remulla issued the statement after he was seen in a heated exchange with Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano when he went to the Senate to implement the Sandiganbayan warrant for the arrest of Sen.
