
Hydrants closed due to unauthorized water extraction, says MCWD
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — The Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) has raised concerns over the unauthorized extraction of water from fire hydrants intended strictly for emergency use. Cesar Boroy, Acting Division Manager of MCWD’s Water Distribution Division, said unauthorized water extraction is one of the challenges the utility faces in managing fire hydrants. Boroy said this was the reason MCWD closed the water supply to some fire hydrants.
