Zamfara deploys engineers to assess roads around FUG, FCET

The Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has deployed a team of engineers to assess road conditions around the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau, and the Federal University Gusau as part of efforts to improve infrastructure in the state. A statement issued by the ministry’s Information Officer, Jamilu Bello, said the technical team, led by the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr Tsalha Mayana, was tasked with evaluating the condition of roads within the affected areas and identifying sections requiring urgent intervention. The statement said the assessment would also provide technical recommendations to guide possible rehabilitation and construction works. According to the ministry, the engineers are expected to assess adjoining access roads and boundary areas to determine the scope of infrastructural improvements needed to enhance accessibility and ease movement for students, staff and surrounding communities. It said the exercise was aimed at determining the exact boundary alignment and evaluating the extent of work required for possible infrastructural intervention in the area. The ministry said the initiative reflected the commitment of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration towards strengthening infrastructure development and improving road networks in key institutions across Zamfara State.
