Zamfara commences payment of N500m gratuity to retired LG workers
The Zamfara State Government has commenced the payment of N500 million gratuity to the fourth batch of retired local government workers under the 2025 exercise. The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr Ahmad Garba Yandi, said the payment was part of the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of retirees and ensuring prompt settlement of their entitlements. He said similar disbursements had earlier been made to previous batches of retirees under the state’s ongoing retirement benefits programme. Yandi said the gesture demonstrated the determination of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration to address gratuity backlogs and restore dignity to retired workers who served across the local government system.
