
MANILA, Philippines — A centuries-old Chinese ceramic plate fragment dating to the late Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty was discovered in Mapanas, Northern Samar, in May. The Northern Samar Provincial Planning and Development Office said the artifact was found by an eight-member team from the University of the Philippines Diliman School of Archeology (UPD-SA), which conducted archaeological studies in Mapanas from May 22-26.
