
11 minority senators ask Cayetano to resign as Senate president
MANILA, Philippines—The 11-man minority bloc on Tuesday asked Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano to resign. “Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano SHOULD RESIGN as he has shown that he cannot function as the leader of the Senate anymore,” the minority group said in a statement read by Sen. Erwin Tulfo during a press conference. Their resignation call followed Cayetano’s continued refusal to convene the session since Monday.
