Dozens Of Budgies And Pigeons Found Dead In Serious Animal Welfare Case

A person is set to be arraigned in court on animal cruelty charges after a large number of budgies and pigeons were discovered living in severely poor conditions. The case was uncovered during an inspection carried out by the Animal Welfare Directorate, which described the situation as a serious instance of neglect. Officials found the birds in what was described as an unsuitable and highly deteriorated environment. Tragically, many of the animals were already dead when officers arrived on site. The surviving birds were immediately confiscated and transferred to a safe location, where they are currently receiving veterinary care and treatment. In a statement, the Animal Welfare Directorate confirmed that the individual responsible will face court proceedings related to animal cruelty. The directorate also thanked the Environmental Health Directorate for its assistance during the joint inspection, which enabled authorities to intervene and rescue the surviving animals. No further details on the number of birds involved or the identity of the accused have yet been released. Photo credits to animalwelfaremt •
