Eastern Visayas police headquarters shifts to solar power

TACLOBAN CITY — The Philippine National Police’s regional headquarters in Eastern Visayas has begun harnessing solar energy to power its operations, a move expected to significantly cut electricity costs while promoting the government’s push for renewable energy use. A ceremonial switch-on was held Tuesday at the Police Regional Office-8 (PRO-8) headquarters inside Camp Ruperto Kangleon in Palo, Leyte, marking the activation of a 48-kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system installed at the two-story administrative building.
