Alec Fenech Becomes First Maltese Water Polo Player To Win League Title Abroad
Maltese water polo player Alec Fenech has made history by becoming the first Maltese athlete in the sport to win a league title abroad. Fenech was crowned Romanian champion with CSA Steaua București after the club secured its 21st national title following a dramatic five-match final series against CSM Oradea. The championship was decided in a tense fifth and final match, with Steaua edging out their rivals 10-9 to seal the title. Fenech played an important role throughout the season as Steaua battled their way to the Romanian championship, one of the most competitive domestic leagues in European water polo. Congratulations to Alec Fenech! •
