Watch: New Footage Shows Narrow Escape Moments Before Factory Blast

New footage has emerged showing the terrifying moments two men narrowly escaped serious injury during Monday morning’s massive fireworks factory explosion in the Naxxar area. According to a report by Times of Malta , Brothers Reuben and Kevin Camilleri had been at the nearby Dun Ġorġ Preca Farm when the first blast was heard. Fearing for their father Victor Camilleri, who was working in nearby fields, they immediately got into their white van and drove towards the area to check if he was safe. However, as they stopped near the factory, a series of huge explosions erupted, showering their van with debris and forcing them to seek shelter behind a nearby wall. The footage shows the chaos unfolding within seconds as explosions continue rocking the area. “Since the wall was on a site below the factory, the blast went over us,” one of the brothers explained. One of the men suffered slight injuries during the incident. Victor Camilleri later told Times of Malta that he had sought shelter inside a small room nearby, which partially collapsed around him and injured his foot. The explosion caused widespread damage across multiple localities, with residents reporting shattered windows, damaged homes and strong shockwaves felt across Malta. What do you make of the footage?
