LTFRB studying petition for land-based PUVs to collect fuel surcharge
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation, Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday said it is currently studying a proposal seeking to allow drivers and operators of land-based public utility vehicles (PUVs) to start collecting fuel surcharge on top of the base fare. “A petition was filed before us, asking for the fare to stay the same, but there will be a fuel surcharge,” LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II said in Filipino during an ambush interview with reporters. “They are patterning this after the maritime and air [transport sectors] where the base fare doesn’t change, but they change the fuel […]...
