ITS Students Turn Chocolate And Cake Into Works Of Art

Chocolate, creativity and plenty of culinary talent were on full display at the Institute of Tourism Studies as first-year Bachelor in Culinary Arts students unveiled a series of impressive chocolate showpieces and celebration cakes.

The creations formed part of the students’ ‘Individual Pastry Practical and Theory’ module, where they were challenged to design and produce themed chocolate showpieces alongside decorated celebration cakes.

Working in groups of three under the guidance of ITS Pastry Chef Lecturer Jimmy Aquilina, the aspiring chefs presented a total of 12 unique creations, each showcasing different themes, techniques and artistic flair.

The project formed part of the students’ hands-on training, allowing them to put both their practical pastry skills and creativity to the test.

ITS praised the students’ work, highlighting the attention to detail, innovation and dedication demonstrated throughout the assignment.

The institute said it looks forward to seeing the students continue developing their talents as they prepare for careers within Malta’s culinary and hospitality industries.

Meanwhile, applications for ITS study programmes remain open until 10th August 2026, with prospective students able to explore courses ranging from Foundation level all the way to Master’s Degree programmes across the tourism and hospitality sectors.
