Fuel prices show signs of rising (again) next week
Fuel prices at the pumps are showing signs of rising, yet again, from Monday. According to SIC Notícias, the worst hit will be diesel, expected to increase by as much as five cents per litre.
The price of petrol is more likely to remain where it is (which depending on where you buy, is hovering around the €2 per litre mark).
Says SIC, these are only previsions at this point – everything could change before markets close on Friday.
But, in comparison with last week (when prices dropped for a change), the price of Brent crude has increased by around 4%, and is rounding out at around 96 dollars per barrel.
The announcement of an agreement, between Israel and Lebanon, for a possible ceasefire encouraged markets this morning (and saw the Brent price drop a little), but a rebuttal by Hezbollah that it is in any way onboard may have sent any gains straight out the window.
SIC stresses that the best deals on fuel can still be found at ‘low cost’ outlets.
