Lavrov suggests non-aggression pact as first step toward Iran normalization
ST. PETERSBURG, June 4. /TASS/. A non-aggression treaty could serve as the first key step towards normalizing the situation between Iran and Arab countries, but additional steps can also be taken, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with RT Arabic.
"Our approach precisely provides, first of all, for non-aggression," Lavrov indicated. "Now, by the way, Saudi Arabia has already talked about non-aggression, a non-aggression treaty. Probably, it would not hurt as a first step, but additional steps can also be taken, including agreements on transparency in military activities, on limiting military actions, preparation for maneuvers, and so on. And generally, confidence-building measures."
