SH1 reopens after being closed by fire at Blenheim

Police officers have been called to help Fire and Emergency New Zealand with traffic control at the scene of a fire on SH1 in Blenheim.
Police were called to the scene on Alabama Road about 6.45am.
The road had been closed north of the Alabama Road intersection, and traffic was being diverted.

Motorists should expect delays, police say.
The NZ Transport Agency said in a social media post around 7.30am that the highway has now reopened.
