Love Island USA Season 8 Introduces New Twist With Throuples
A bombshell has exited the Villa.
George Knight surprisingly quit Love Island UK only three days after entering the competition series alongside Yasmin Hadlow as season 13's first batch of bombshells on June 1, leaving viewers wondering what happened to make the professional footballer exit early.
A Love Island spokesperson told E! News on June 4, "For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa."
Despite George's premature departure, the 28-year-old had already made quite an impression on his new castmates when shaking things up by taking part in a shocking twist on day two of the experience.
After host Maya Jama told George and Yasmin they would be responsible for picking two Islanders to send home in 24 hours, the Dorking Wanderers FC midfielder seemed game for the surprise dumping.
"I don't seek drama, but I'm quite naturally competitive," George admitted. "If there's something in my way, I want to put my best foot forward."
After all, George confessed he had big plans to play the field during his time in Majorca, Spain—where the series has been filmed since its first season in 2015.
As George put it, "I don't think I'd make any rash decision. I'd review options. You don't want to get too deep, too early on. I'm open to getting to know everyone but as weeks go by, figure it out."
And George's withdrawal isn't the only casting shakeup in the Love Island universe this summer.
Love Island USA participant Vasana Montgomery was removed from the cast ahead of the series premiere June 2 due to her alleged use of the N-word in resurfaced videos.

"I want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently surfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry," the 25-year-old told her followers on a June 3 Instagram Story. "I take full responsibility for what I said and understand why it has hurt and upset people."
In light of Vasana's removal, producers sent in five female Islanders instead of the six originally revealed stars. Seemingly to compensate for the uneven number of male to female cast members, original contestant Gabriel Vasconcelos was sent into the Fiji Villa as a bombshell.
