Carmen Electra Teases Potential Cameo in Baywatch Reboot
Carmen Electra is ready to suit back up.
With the reboot of Baywatch currently in production, the 54-year-old, who played Lani McKenzie on season eight of the original series, teased whether she’s going to make any appearances on the beaches of Los Angeles.
“You never know,” she told E! News’ Will Marfuggi at the June 3 premiere of Scary Movie 6, during which she does make a cameo. “I mean, Scary Movie, possibly Baywatch.”
As for any advice she has for this next generation of lifeguards, Carmen said the biggest advantage is to “always be ready.”
“It’s a lot of hard work,” she continued. “So, you just want to be in tip-top shape before you step out there, period. And work on your swimming techniques. Because it's hard. It’s not an easy job.”
In fact, the Meet the Spartans alum remembers working under the tutelage of a real-life lifeguard that came in to direct some episodes of the series.
“He was like, ‘You've got to do everything,’” she recalled. “He was really tough on us. So, I'm hoping they're not as tough on them, but I have a feeling they are.”
But in the same way Carmen has countless positive memories from Baywatch, despite the strenuous nature of her role, so, too, does she fondly remember her time working with the Wayans brothers—including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans —on the first and fourth Scary Movie.

Describing the role as “a huge moment for me,” Carmen continued, “It really showed people that I have a good sense of humor about myself. I think before that, people didn't know I was funny. They didn't know I had the chops to be able to pull off a role like that.”
In fact, she alleged that the studio behind the film didn’t “want her,” but that Keenen pulled for her to be in the movie’s opening sequence, which sees Carmen recreate Drew Barrymore’s scene in the original Scream.
“So, I love Kenan for that,” she said, adding of the Wayans brothers, “They care, so they'll take you beat by beat if you need it. They make sure everything works out. and they'll bring you back if they love you.”
Plus, it helps that they’re just plain old funny.
“I don’t know what else to say,” she joked. “They’re hilarious.”
