The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has constituted appeal panels to address petitions and complaints arising from its primary elections across the country.
The panels will receive and review complaints from aspirants who contested presidential, governorship, state assembly, and National Assembly positions.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the faction noted that the move is aimed at promoting “transparency, fairness, and internal democracy within the party’s electoral process.”

The panels have been split into two separate committees: one will handle petitions from the state and National Assembly primaries, while the other will oversee governorship and presidential appeals.
The Presidential and Governorship Appeal Panel is headed by the National Chairman of the party, Abdulrahman Muhammed, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu serving as Secretary. Meanwhile, the State and National Assembly Panel is chaired by Barr. Suleiman Afolagbe, with Barr. Nnenna Aladum serving as Secretary.
The PDP spokesman stated that the panels will hear and review appeals from contestants and stakeholders who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries. They will subsequently make recommendations in line with the party’s constitution, electoral guidelines, and relevant provisions of the law.
The party emphasized that the constitution of these appeal panels underscores its commitment to a credible candidate selection process.
