Iran fires warning shots at US destroyers in Gulf of Oman — army statement

TEHRAN, June 5. /TASS/. The Iranian armed forces have fired warning shots at two US destroyers in the Gulf of Oman, Iran’s military said in a statement.

According to the statement, cited by the Mehr news agency, Iran "fired warning missiles and drones," forcing the warships to leave and head toward the Indian Ocean.

The Iranian military added that it is "prepared, if necessary, to use longer-range missiles" against US vessels.
