Driver Hospitalised After Ready-Mix Truck Crashes Into Trailer in Ħal Far

A section of Ħal Far Road in Birżebbuġa has been closed following a collision involving a ready-mix truck and a trailer this afternoon.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm while the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions along Ħal Far Road.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital, members of the Civil Protection Department, police officers and Transport Malta officials were dispatched to the scene.

The driver of the ready-mix truck was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Transport Malta have since confirmed that Ħal Far Road is closed between the Schembri Bros plant and Triq Għar Ħassan.

Motorists travelling in either direction towards Ħal Luqa or Birżebbuġa are being diverted through the Ħal Far Industrial Estate and are urged to follow traffic signs in the area.

Emergency crews remain on site while investigations continue.
