
Today, at around noon, the Police were informed that assistance was required at a childcare centre in Garcin Street, Msida, after an infant had lost consciousness.
The Police, together with a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital, immediately went to the scene, where they found the infant, a four-month-old boy, receiving medical assistance from staff members at the childcare centre.
After the medical team continued providing treatment, the child was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified to be at risk of dying.
Magistrate Dr Philip Galea Farrugia LL.D was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry, while Police investigations are ongoing.
