Flavio Cobolli is in Sunday's final at
Roland Garros after Matteo Armaldi withdrew with a bug from
their semi-final slated for Friday night.
World number 14 Cobolli will face the winner of the other semi,
world number three Alexander Zverev of Germany, who beat Czech
Jakub Mensik, ATP number 27, in four sets: 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
Zverev thus reached his fourth career Grand Slam final.
He has lost three of three so far.
It will be 24-year-old Roman Cobolli's first major final.
Arnaldi's withdrawal from the French Open semifinal against
Cobolli was announced in the press room by the organizers of the
Parisian Grand Slam, specifying that Arnaldi is suffering from a
virus and will therefore be unable to play.
The public will be refunded.
