Henry Cavill is gearing up to play spy games with Kevin Hart in a new action comedy for Netflix.
Cavill and Hart star as rival spies who cross paths in a Lamaze class when their wives become fast friends. “Their double lives collide in unexpectedly hilarious and dangerous ways,” an early synopsis explains, “forcing the two men to reluctantly become confidantes and partners on the road to fatherhood.”
Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort are producing the untitled film, with McG directing. The script was written by Adam and Aaron Nee — whose latest film, Amazon MGM Studios’ “Masters of the Universe,” is now playing in theaters — and Jonathan Tropper. The project is based on a short story by Sean Lewis.
In addition to starring in the film, Hart also produces via his Hartbeat banner, along with Luke Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley. Levy, Dan Levine and Emily Morris produce for 21 Laps alongside Reynolds, George Dewey and Patrick Gooing for Maximum Effort.
Cavill is repped by WME. The Wrap first reported news of his casting.
