Nina Dobrev Shares Fiery Message About Having to "Fake It" After Shaun White Breakup

Shaun White may have slid into a new relationship.

Nine months after the snowboarder and Nina Dobrev ended their engagement following five years together, White is sparking romance rumors with model Angela Garten.

Indeed, the pair enjoyed a day out in New York City on June 4, including a walk along the sunlit streets, a joint ride on a bike and shopping together. At one point, the duo even shared a sweet hug inside one store.

Despite the cozy outing, neither White nor Garten has addressed their relationship status.

As for Dobrev, while the Vampire Diaries alum has yet to debut a new relationship, she has shared some cryptic insight into her life after she and the Olympian parted ways.

In fact, in November—two months after she and White broke up—Dobrev seemingly alluded to her newfound single era with a TikTok video set to Ariana Grande’s 2014 song “Break Free.”

"If you want it, take it / I should have said it before,” she lip-synced on TikTok to the track while flipping off the camera, before brandishing her empty ring finger and mouthing the words, “Tried to hide it, fake it / I can't pretend anymore."

And just days before her and White’s breakup became public, Dobrev shared an eyebrow-raising message about having to “fix” a man.

"How do you sleep at night knowing people don't like you?" the Love Hard star lip-synced in the Sept. 5 clip. "With no underwear, in case they wanna kiss my ass."

She continued, “What's your advice for women trying to fix their man? Listen, Bob the Builder, he's got 10 other women trying to fix him too, and you all look like a damn construction crew."

Two days later, Dobrev stepped out to the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Eternity without the engagement ring White had given to her a year earlier, with their breakup being confirmed four days after that.

While Dobrev and White have not addressed their breakup publicly, E! News confirmed their split later that month.  A source at the time told People, who was first to report the news, "It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.”
