Why Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley Chose to Pursue SOLO Career
This news will make you want to roll your windows down and cruise.
Florida Georgia Line members Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard reunited for the first time since announcing an "indefinite hiatus" in 2022 to pursue solo careers, performing together on the opening night of CMA Fest 2026.
After being introduced by boxing announcer Michael Buffer, the country music duo surprised fans by walking through the crowd separately at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on June 4 while high-fiving fans and singing their hit 2013 single "Round Here" before reuniting onstage together and singing "Cruise."
"CMA Fest, it feels so good to be here with my brother," Hubbard said during their surprise appearance. "And listen, we got three things we want to say tonight. First of all, God is good. Second of all, life is short. And most importantly, your boys....we back, baby!"
Florida Georgia Line—who, prior to CMA Fest, last performed together in August 2022—had been teasing their reunion on Instagram, where they changed their profile picture to "FGL LFG."
The country stars had also posted a phone number on a billboard in Nashville, per Rolling Stone, which respond with a message when fans texted it that said "Turns out, some things are just better together. Much more to come."
Hubbard and Kelley had been together as Florida Georgia Line for a decade before announcing that they were taking a break over four years ago.

"We're not going our separate ways," Kelley told People in a statement in 2022. "We're taking a break from recording our music. We're being artists. We love creating. And so a couple years back, we started writing without each other and trying different writers, and now we're both doing that with our music."
Hubbard echoed his bandmate's sentiments at the time, noting that they had a dozen more shows to play at the time before their break could truly begin.

"I think 'taking a break' is the proper term, as opposed to breaking up," he said. "We're sort of using these last 12 shows," he said, "as a time to celebrate FGL, celebrate the fans, celebrate each other, and then support each other on the next chapter of our musical and creative journey, which is gonna be individually for a while. So we're excited."
Florida Georgia Line has certainly already made its impact on country music. Keep reading for more celeb appearances at CMA Fest 2026...
