Senator Danjuma Mohammed Goje has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the construction of the Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri highway, saying the project marks a major step toward improving infrastructure, trade and development in the North East geopolitical zone.
Goje, a former governor of Gombe State, told journalists in Abuja that he had repeatedly advocated for a major highway linking the northeastern states, stressing that the new project reflects the President’s readiness to respond to the people’s demands.
“I have been an advocate of the construction of a highway in the North East for many years. On several occasions, I spoke on the floor of the Senate on the need for Mr President to turn his attention to this part of the country.”
