Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's disaster recovery task force urged ministries and agencies to speed up budget allocation and disbursement to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation in three provinces hit by floods and landslides.
Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, who chairs the task force, said streamlined budgeting was essential for faster recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
In a statement on Sunday, Karnavian said the government and parliament had approved a recovery master plan targeting completion by 2028.
The plan outlines 11,512 programs requiring Rp100.166 trillion, equivalent to more than US$5.5 billion, in funding.
"Please submit budget proposals based on the master plan to the finance minister as soon as possible," Karnavian told government institutions.
He said early budgeting was crucial to prevent delays as recovery efforts move beyond emergency response toward long-term rehabilitation.
"We are now transitioning into permanent recovery efforts," he said, adding coordination between central and regional governments remained essential.

Task force data showed that as of June 3, several institutions had begun budgeting discussions with the Finance Ministry or received spending ceilings.
Those institutions include the Home Affairs Ministry, Public Works Ministry, Primary and Secondary Education Ministry, Health Ministry and Religious Affairs Ministry.
Other ministries and agencies are still completing internal processes, including preparing supporting documents.
Karnavian said agricultural recovery had reached 63 percent, with planting activities resuming in parts of Aceh.
He also said school revitalization was continuing while authorities accelerated permanent housing construction for affected communities.
