Two people were rescued this morning after their boat sank off the coast of Sliema, prompting a response from the Armed Forces of Malta.
The incident unfolded earlier today when authorities received reports of two persons in difficulty at sea after their vessel began taking on water and sank.
An Armed Forces of Malta rescue vessel was dispatched to the area and successfully recovered both individuals from the water.
The rescued persons were subsequently handed over to Mater Dei Hospital medical personnel for further assessment and treatment.
The condition of the two individuals has not yet been officially disclosed.
Photos shared by Civil Protection Malta show the rescue operation as emergency responders worked to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
More information is expected as authorities continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the sinking.
