Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) showcased investment projects in Bali, including the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), to six foreign ambassadors during the Bali Jagadhita 2026 event.
Head of BI Bali Representative Office Achris Sarwani said the event focused on promoting trade, tourism, and investment while expanding market access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"We are focusing on the pillars of trade, tourism, and investment, as well as expanding market access for MSMEs," he said on the sidelines of the event's closing ceremony in Badung, Bali, on Sunday.
The ambassadors included Armenia's Serob Bejanyan, Oman's Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed Salim Al Shanfari, Pakistan's Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, Bulgaria's Tanya Dimitrova, Romania's Dan Adrian Balanescu, and Bahrain's Ahmed Abdulla Ahmed Alharmasi Alhajeri.
The central bank invited the diplomats to learn more about the facilities and services available at the Sanur Health SEZ, as well as services that are scheduled to open in the future.
BI also connected operators of 21 investment projects in Bali and Nusa Tenggara with the ambassadors and 35 potential investors.
Investment promotion was one of the key components of the annual event, alongside trade initiatives aimed at expanding business opportunities, particularly for export-oriented MSMEs.
During Bali Jagadhita 2026, held from June 5–7, direct transactions at 60 MSME booths reached around Rp1.9 billion (around US$105,000).
The event, which featured MSME products from Bali and Nusa Tenggara, generated potential transactions estimated at Rp23 billion.
Under its tourism pillar, BI also supported the Bali Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) in late May, which recorded estimated transactions of Rp6.9 trillion.
According to Sarwani, the event brought together 407 buyers from 44 countries and tourism players from 12 Indonesian provinces, involving 208 sellers.
Meanwhile, Bali Provincial Secretary Dewa Made Indra praised BI Bali Representative Office for consistently organizing the event and promoting the island's trade, tourism, and investment potential.
"We are open to investment. The condition is that all investments must respect Balinese culture and support sustainability," he said.
