Kathmandu, June 8
Nabil Bank Limited has launched the Nepal–India–Nepal Cross-Border Person-to-Person (P2P) remittance service, enabling instant digital money transfers between the two countries.
According to a press statement released by the bank, the service allows account holders to send and receive funds through the bank’s mobile banking app, nBank. Indian users can transfer money to beneficiaries in India, while Nepali and Indian customers can send funds directly to Nabil Bank account holders in Nepal.
The bank said the facility aims to make cross-border remittances faster, safer and more convenient, strengthening digital financial connectivity between Nepal and India. Chief Executive Officer Manoj Gyawali said the initiative marks a significant step in improving payment efficiency and customer convenience across borders.
Transaction limits have been set for regulatory compliance: transfers from Nepal to India allow up to INR 15,000 daily and INR 100,000 monthly, while India-to-Nepal transfers permit up to INR 200,000 per day with no monthly cap.
The system is supported by Nepal Clearing House Limited and India’s Unified Payments Interface, ensuring secure and interoperable settlement between the two countries. Nabil Bank said the service reflects its ongoing digital transformation strategy, with 266 branches and 318 ATMs nationwide.
Bank officials expect increased adoption across Nepal and India soon.
