Malta’s first-ever direct flight from New York has just landed at Malta International Airport right now.
Flight DL148, operated by Delta Air Lines, departed New York’s JFK Airport last night and has completed its transatlantic journey in around nine hours.
The arrival marks a major milestone for Malta’s aviation and tourism sectors, with Delta becoming the first American airline to operate direct scheduled flights between the United States and Malta.
The service will run three times a week, strengthening links between Malta and one of its fastest-growing tourism markets.
The aircraft is also set to depart Malta directly for New York later today, opening a new chapter in travel between the two destinations.
