Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) convened a meeting with sovereign wealth fund Danantara and the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry to coordinate the new policy on state control of natural resource exports.
DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad presided over the forum, joined by ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Danantara Chief Operating Officer Donny Oskaria, State Secretariat Minister Prasetyo Hadi, and Law Minister Supratman Andi Agtas.
“We have held discussion, engaged in quite a lengthy coordinating session since the morning with the government,” Dasco remarked at a press conference after the meeting at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
Dasco explained that DPR sought the government’s elaborations on the new policy, which established PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) as a state-run enterprise handling exports of coal, crude palm oil, and ferroalloy.
He said that the government needs to articulate the single-gate export initiative to the wider public, market actors, and investors.
The lawmaker highlighted that the meeting also served as a platform for government and parliament to identify ways to accelerate economic growth and to exchange perspectives on investment regulations.
Meanwhile, Minister Prasetyo Hadi assured the public of the benefits of the export policy, set out in Government Regulation No. 24 of 2026 on the governance of natural resource exports, effective June 1.
He emphasized that the regulation is intended to strengthen state control and oversight of export activities.
With that in mind, Hadi stressed that making the policy succeed requires concerted efforts from all elements of society.
He therefore called on the business community and wider public to help create a competitive and open business climate in pursuit of national interests.
“We continue to work hard to step up coordination in a bid to keep our economy on track,” the minister concluded.
