Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) as well as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, emphasized that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) is not an "export broker".
"It may seem as though we are acting as brokers and taking export margins, but that is not the case," he said after a press conference at the Parliamentary Complex on Monday.
His remarks were made in response to provisions allowing DSI to determine margins, as stipulated in Article 3, Paragraph (4) of Government Regulation (PP) No. 24 of 2026 on the Governance of Strategic Natural Resource Commodity Exports.
The regulation states that “State-Owned Enterprises engaged in exports in the implementation of Strategic Natural Resource Commodity Exports as referred to in paragraph (1) may determine margins at a reasonable level in accordance with laws and regulations.”
Oskaria explained that DSI will not profit from natural resource exports but will instead charge service fees to business actors.
For example, he noted that the government may incur costs in conducting export inspections and verification processes. These activities constitute services provided to exporters.
"This provides exporters with legal certainty. What they export has been verified, both in terms of price and volume," he said.
He reiterated that DSI is not functioning as an export broker and that any charges imposed are service fees.
"It is never our intention to become a broker by buying at one price, adding a margin, and reselling at a higher price. That would not be competitive because international reference prices already exist," he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that natural resource exporters will be required to report their export activities to PT DSI starting June 1, 2026.
The reporting process will be conducted through the Customs Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA) 4.0 platform managed by the Ministry of Finance.
