'Prepared' to help, Cla Loresco provides quality minutes for Alas

CANDON CITY, Ilocos Sur — Cla Loresco continued to show her potential for Alas Pilipinas in just her second year with the squad in the 2026 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Cup.

Loresco made the most of her extended play and finished with four points in  Alas’ 25-9, 25-11, 25-17 rout of Kyrgyzstan to improve to a 2-1 record in Pool A on Monday at Candon City Arena here.

“I always make sure I’m ready. Whenever Coach Shaq calls my number, I’m prepared to step in and contribute,” said Loresco in Filipino.

The Far Eastern University product clinched the second set for the squad and put on the finishing touches in the third to complete their bounce-back win following a five-set meltdown to Australia less than 24 hours ago.

Loresco, 19, may be the youngest player on the team, but her experience being part of the Alas program last year prepared her for another international stint.

“It helped me a lot. One of the biggest things I learned was how to be patient with myself and with my performance,” said the young middle blocker.

Loresco is also grateful to play alongside national team stars Alyssa Valdez, Ces Molina, Thea Gagate, Jovelyn Gonzaga, and Alyssa Solomon.

“I’m always asking the senior players for advice. It’s been great being around them because they bring so much experience and fight whenever they represent the Philippines,” she said.
