Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara clarified that its newly established export firm, PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), will not necessarily affect existing natural resource export contracts.
“We will continue implementing contracts already held by all companies,” Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria told the press at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday.
He emphasized that existing agreements would continue as usual, provided they do not involve practices such as under-invoicing or transfer pricing.
Under-invoicing refers to the deliberate reporting of prices below actual transaction values, while transfer pricing involves setting prices for goods, services, or intangible assets exchanged between affiliated entities within a corporate group.
Oskaria made the remarks following the government's decision to designate DSI as the sole entity responsible for managing and supervising reports on strategic natural resource exports.
Also serving as head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), he said the government has begun developing a digital system to strengthen oversight and improve transparency in natural resource transactions.
On May 31, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that all natural resource exporters would be required to report their export activities to DSI, with the initial phase of implementation beginning on June 1.
The reporting process will be conducted through the Customs Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA) 4.0 platform operated by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise under the Ministry of Finance.
Airlangga explained that the first phase of the single-channel export policy covers coal, palm oil, and ferroalloys. The policy will be evaluated after three months before moving to full implementation on January 1, 2027.
He added that the transition period is intended to give businesses and exporters sufficient time to adapt to the new reporting mechanism.
