
ILOILO CITY — The number of schools affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off Maasim, Sarangani on Monday morning, June 8, has risen to 8,642 schools across 43 divisions in six regions, the Department of Education (DepEd) reported. In Situation Report No. 3 issued at 5 p.m., DepEd said the quake has disrupted classes for 4,090,246 learners and 156,282 school personnel across Regions IX, X, XI, XII, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and the Caraga Region.
