
EXCLUSIVE: Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) has joined the cast of Ethan Almighty, as the feature inspired by the story of a real-life rescue dog whose survival captivated millions shoots in Kentucky.
Grammer joins an ensemble cast that includes Sean Patrick Flanery, Selma Blair, Brandon Routh, and Trevor Donovan in the film written, directed, and produced by Tané McClure.
Based on true events, Ethan Almighty tells the story of Ethan, a severely abused dog left for dead, whose miraculous recovery captured national attention and ultimately helped inspire legislative change.
At the heart of the story is Jeff Callaway, whose compassion and determination transformed tragedy into hope, inspiring a movement that continues to impact animal welfare today.
Grammer will portray the Governor of Kentucky, a pivotal role within the film’s emotional and legislative journey.
“Kelsey has the rare ability to bring both authority and deep humanity to a role,” said McClure, who is producing through McClure Films alongside Michelle Alexandria for Light Year Pictures, Stephanie Garvin, and Lisanne Canty of Harrington Legacy Media

One of television’s most celebrated actors, Grammer has won six Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards throughout a career spanning more than four decades.
Best known for his iconic portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane in Cheers and Frasier, the actor has also appeared in movies including Jesus Revolution, X Men: The Last Stand, and will soon also be seen in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Grammer is represented by UTA and Vault Entertainment.
As reported by Deadline last month, Ethan Almighty has been picked up for distribution by Hollywood Expansion Corporation and Arclight Films who is representing worldwide rights, in a deal facilitated by producer Alexandria.
