
COTABATO CITY – Regular government work has resumed in all Bangsamoro Region offices on Tuesday, following a Magnitude 7.8 quake that rocked the Soccsksargen region but affected two provinces in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Following the earthquake, Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua suspended office work to allow an inspection of the condition of government buildings inside the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) here.

“I have directed all concerned agencies of the Bangsamoro Government to temporarily suspend office operations to allow for the immediate assessment of building safety and to ensure the welfare of all employees and the public,” Macacua said Monday morning.

But as of 11 p.m. Monday, Macacua lifted the suspension and directed all employees to report for work on Tuesday.
“All BARMM employees are reminded to always remain vigilant and cautious,” he said in a statement addressed to all BARMM employees.
“I likewise advise all personnel working at the BGC and other government offices to remain alert for possible aftershocks and strictly observe established safety protocols. For offices located outside the BGC, please follow the advisories issued by your respective local government units (LGUs),” he added.
“In times like these, it is important that we remain calm, vigilant, and prepared to respond to any potential danger as we continue to closely monitor the situation,” Macacua said./coa

HELP MINDANAO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
The Inquirer Foundation is calling for support for communities devastated by the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao.
In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, the foundation is amplifying appeals for food, clean water and other critical assistance for affected families.
Donors may send contributions directly to the Philippine Red Cross through its official transfer channels, the complete list is available on the PRC’s Facebook page.
The Philippine Red Cross has activated its emergency fund campaign and deployed teams on the ground to provide medical services, distribute relief goods and extend psychosocial support to affected families.
