Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects and recovered a locally made firearm and other dangerous weapons from them.
The suspects were identified as Musa Sule, Moses Sunday and Osama Ibrahim.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Surveillance Unit during a routine patrol operation in Asaba.
According to him, the officers, while patrolling behind the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) premises in Asaba, intercepted the three suspects whose movements and behaviour aroused suspicion. Edafe said the operatives conducted a search on the suspects and recovered a locally made revolver pistol as well as other dangerous weapons.
“The suspects were immediately arrested, while the exhibits were recovered and taken into police custody,” he said.
He added that investigations into the matter were ongoing and assured that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
