
Labour MEPs Alex Agius Saliba and Daniel Attard have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2026 MEP Awards, with both receiving recognition in categories linked to their work in the European Parliament.
Alex Agius Saliba was nominated for the Digital Champion and Innovation Award, a category recognising MEPs who are helping shape Europe’s digital future and driving innovation across the continent.
Meanwhile, Daniel Attard has been shortlisted for the Sustainable Tourism Award, which celebrates efforts to promote responsible, inclusive and future-oriented tourism policies throughout Europe.
Reacting to the nomination, Agius Saliba said the recognition motivates him to continue working hard on behalf of the Maltese and Gozitan people in Brussels.
In a social media post, he described the nomination as a vote of confidence that gives him even greater determination to represent Malta and Gozo to the best of his abilities within the European Parliament.
The MEP Awards recognise parliamentarians from across the European Union who have made significant contributions in their respective policy areas during the legislative term.
Both Maltese MEPs will now compete against fellow finalists from across Europe in their respective categories.
