Members of the Armed Forces of Malta have taken part in the 66th edition of the International Military Pilgrimage in Lourdes, France, joining thousands of military personnel from around the world in one of the largest gatherings of its kind.
The Maltese contingent travelled to Lourdes between 22nd and 24th May, joining more than 17,000 participants from 40 different countries for the annual event.
Often described as a unique opportunity for service members to come together beyond borders and uniforms, the pilgrimage focuses on themes of fraternity, unity and peace.
The Armed Forces of Malta described the event as a meaningful experience that allows military personnel from different nations to walk side by side, reflect and share in a message of solidarity.
Held every year in the French town of Lourdes, the International Military Pilgrimage brings together armed forces, veterans, chaplains, families and volunteers from across the globe.
For Malta’s contingent, the event offered an opportunity to represent the country on an international stage while taking part in a tradition that has united military communities for decades.
This year’s edition marked the 66th running of the pilgrimage, which continues to attract thousands of participants annually and remains one of the most significant international events for military personnel worldwide.
Congratulations to all those involved!
