Emily Blunt Shares Which of Her Movies She's Let Her, John Krasinski’s Kids Watch
Emily Blunt's movie nights with her kids? Groundbreaking.
Indeed, the Devil Wears Prada actress revealed that her films have been part of her quality time with her and husband John Krasinski's daughters Hazel, 12, and Violet, 9.
"They've seen both Devil Wears Pradas," Blunt exclusively told E! News at Disclosure Day New York City premiere June 8. "They've seen Into the Woods up until I die. They've seen Mary Poppins and they've seen Jungle Cruise."
"They've seen the tame ones," she confirmed before teasing, "I haven't shown them Sicario yet."
But when it comes to Disclosure Day—during which Blunt's meteorologist character finds herself at the center of a government cover-up after acquiring otherworldly abilities—she's not sure that her daughters should get a front row seat anytime soon.
"Because of what my character goes through in the film, I'd be nervous to show them this," she admitted. "I think they would be rather overwhelmed by what she experiences. It's hard. They need me to be mummy, not being imbued by alien powers."
In fact, she even chose to practice her extraterrestrial language for the Steven Spielberg-directed film outside of their home.
"I practiced in private with various clicking skills," Blunt previously revealed to E!. "Actually, the only person who was privy to my weird sounds was Steven, and our sound designer. But I think if my children started doing that, it would unravel me completely. I would be spellbound and also terrified."
Though the 43-year-old—who tied the knot with The Office alum in 2010—wasn't planning to teach her kids the alien language, she did share a glimpse into her most recent lesson: empathy.

"Every day I'm trying to teach them that I am as interested in their fears as I am in their triumphs as I am in their failings that they feel they had that day," she explained. "I'm just curious about everything to do with them. They never need to amplify anything or soft lay anything."
"I just want them to feel they can always come to me," Blunt added, "and it's just the softest place to land. And then they can pass that off onto those around them. Kindness reigns supreme."
Disclosure Day, starring Colman Domingo, Colin Firth, Josh O'Connor and more, premieres in theaters June 12.
