Audiences are still intrigued by Michael Jackson‘s high-profile criminal trial, even more than two decades later.
Netflix‘s latest docuseries on the topic, Michael Jackson: The Verdict, topped the streamer’s English TV list last week with 17.8M views from June 1 to 7. It was the most-watched title on the series side by a decent margin, with second place going to The Witness with 13.2M views.
Season 2 of The Four Seasons came in a distant third with 5.7M views. That’s up a tad from the 4.4M views it managed in its opening weekend, though it’s becoming clear that audience’s largely didn’t stick around after the first installment despite the quicker-than-usual turnaround time. The series debuted to 11.9M views in its first four days just last year.
Speaking of, even with a bit of a lackluster showing for Season 2, the first season of The Four Seasons still managed to sneak onto the Top 10 list last week at No. 10 with 2M views.
The Boroughs came in fourth with 3.7M views, and Nemesis rounded out the Top 5 with 3.5M views. The second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder climbed to the No. 8 spot with 2.1M views, prompting Netflix to announce the series has been renewed for a third and final season on Tuesday.
On the film side of things, the new Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein-led rom-com Office Romance easily swiped No. 1 with 20.9M views — also making it the most-watched title of the week. War Machine, which fell off the weekly list quite a while ago, is still chugging along in its premiere window, moving up to No. 9 on the Most Popular list with 139.9M views total since its March 6 premiere.
