Proton Security Services Limited has been named Best Security Company of the Year 2026, earning regional recognition for its contributions to security service delivery, innovation and operational excellence.
According to a statement on Tuesday, the award was presented at the West Africa Innovation Awards ceremony held at the Watercress Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, placing Proton Security ahead of other leading industry players, including Ashaka Security Limited and Kings Guard Nigeria Limited.
The West Africa Innovation Awards celebrate organisations and leaders that have demonstrated excellence, resilience, innovation and transformative leadership across various sectors of the economy.
Speaking after receiving the award, the Managing Director of Proton Security Services Limited, Adekunmi Odebunmi, described the recognition as an affirmation of the company’s commitment to professionalism, consistency and high standards in the private security industry.
According to him, the achievement reflects years of investment in technical expertise, disciplined operational processes and strategic stakeholder engagement, which have helped strengthen the company’s presence and service delivery capabilities across Nigeria.
“This recognition is a powerful validation of our dedication to operational excellence and our determination to continually raise standards in the private security sector,” Odebunmi said.
He noted that Proton Security’s growth has been driven not only by its operational capacity but also by its commitment to the welfare of its employees, which he described as a critical pillar of the company’s long-term sustainability.
Odebunmi highlighted the company’s support for one of its operatives, Maria Ejeba, who was attached to MTN’s regional office in Ikoyi and was involved in a serious road accident in 2024.

Beyond internal operations, Odebunmi said the company has continued to play an active role in promoting national security awareness and supporting efforts aimed at maintaining public safety.
He recalled Proton Security’s advocacy during the period of political party primaries, when it called for heightened vigilance and strengthened security deployments across the country to safeguard public spaces and preserve peace.
According to him, proactive security measures remain essential to protecting lives, property and economic activities, particularly during periods of heightened political engagement.
The managing director reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding innovation in security service delivery, strengthening stakeholder confidence and contributing to national stability.
He added that Proton Security would continue to invest in technology, personnel development and strategic partnerships to enhance security outcomes for clients and communities.
The award comes as demand for professional security services continues to grow across Nigeria amid increasing emphasis on risk management, business continuity and the protection of critical assets.
