CEBU CITY, Philippines — Passengers taking the boat from the Cordova Roro Port to Getafe town in Bohol province will have to pay P5 more for their terminal fees when an ordinance increasing the terminal and environmental fees of the town port takes effect.
This means that a passenger will have to pay P5 more, or from the terminal fee of P10 to P15, when the ordinance takes effect, which is 15 days after its publication.

Aside from that, tourists going on an island-hopping trip using the boats docked at the roro port will see an increase of P5 in the environmental fee — from P10 to P15.
This developed after Cordova Municipal Mayor Cesar “Didoy” Suan signed on Thursday, June 4, 2026, Ordinance No. 2026-031, which increased the collected amount for terminal and environmental user fees at the Cordova Roro Port.
The ordinance, authored by Councilor Lemuel Pogoy, was passed at the Sangguniang Bayan on May 25, 2026.
Under the ordinance, terminal fees are as follows: Regular passengers will pay P15, while students, senior citizens, and PWDs will pay P10.

The ordinance also imposes a vehicle terminal fee of P25 for motorcycles, P50 for tricycles, P100 for private cars or vans, P150 for light trucks and PUJs, and P200 for heavy trucks and buses.
Pogoy told CDN Digital that the amount collected would be utilized for the maintenance of the port.
“Para ra gyud diha, kay naa manang aircon, CR. Dili naman na sila mobayad kay apil naman na sa terminal fee. Kanang naay magbantay diha, kanang naa diha sa port ba,” Pogoy said.
(It is really for that port because there is an air con there, CR. They will not have to pay because that will now be included in the terminal fee. There will be someone who would watch there at the port.)
The environmental user’s fee will also increase from P15 to P20.
The amount collected would be utilized to support environmental protection programs, coastal resource management, waste management, and the sanitation program of the municipality.
However, government vehicles on official business, emergency response vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, and rescue vehicles, uniformed personnel performing official duties, and children below 5 years old are exmpted on paying the terminal and environmental user’s fee.
The collection of such fees shall be undertaken by the Municipal Treasurer’s Office or its duly authorized agents. Official receipts shall also be issued for every payment collected.
Those who would violate the ordinance shall pay a fine of P1,000 to P2,500, or imprisonment of not more than six months.
The ordinance will take effect 15 days after its publication.
