MANILA, Philippines – Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island Region emitted ash on Saturday morning and remains under Alert Level 2, an indication of increased unrest, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs showed footage of the ash emission, which it said occurred at 7:04 a.m.
“This event generated grayish plumes that rose 600 meters above the crater before drifting west, as captured by the IP camera at Kanlaon Volcano Observatory-Canlaon City (KVO-CC),” Phivolcs said in a Facebook post.
