Northern Territory Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with murder after a 21-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death in Tennant Creek.
They said the man died following an "altercation" on Friday morning.
Last week, an NT Police spokesperson said officers received reports of a stabbing on Griggs Street in the town 500 kilometres north of Alice Springs at about 1:10am on June 12.
"Officers attended and located a 21-year-old man with a laceration to his neck," they said.
"He was declared deceased a short time later and a crime scene declared."
Police arrested the teenager later that day at a nearby residence and announced the murder charge this morning.
Detectives have previously said they were investigating whether the stabbing could be linked to ongoing feuding in the town and in a statement released today, Acting Commander Mark Grieve described the incident as "another senseless death".
"Our thoughts are with the family, but we ask for calm in the community," he said.
"Violence is not the answer."
The teenager has been remanded in custody and will face court tomorrow.
