The head-to-head history between Socceroos and Türkiye
By Chris De Silva
This afternoon's clash will be just the third meeting between Australia and Türkiye's men's teams.
Türkiye has won each of the two previous meetings, a pair of friendlies in May 2004.

The Türkiye fans are up and about as well
By Chris De Silva
If you're worried about the Socceroos badly outnumbering Türkiye in the streets and in the stands, I don't think that'll be an issue.
Also personally LOVE the kebab > schnitzel sign. Could NOT agree any more.

Where are the Socceroos playing this afternoon?
By Chris De Silva
The Socceroos will kick off their World Cup with a clash against Türkiye in Vancouver, Canada.
The two teams will be playing in the 54,500-capacity BC Place, which is home to the MLS's Vancouver Whitecaps.
As for the vibes outside BC Place? Here's ABC's very own Tom Wildie giving you a little insight into all of it.
The Aussie fans have been spending hours preparing for the World Cup opener. I cannot even imagine what it's going to sound like inside the stadium.
